About regulatory and data-sharing requirements for fraud prevention
Beginning August 23rd 2023, under the European Union (EU) law, partners managing properties based in the EU are required to display whether their listings on Vrbo are provided by a business or private owner.
A private owner is defined as a host that doesn’t rent an accommodation as part of their trade, business, or profession, whereas a professional host rents accommodation as part of their trade, business, or profession.
This information will be displayed on the Payment Display Page, and will also appear on your listing(s) in search results to provide clarity to potential travelers about the booking process and their consumer rights.
To add/update this information:
On the Owner Dashboard, select the listing you want to review.
Go to Property editor.
Scroll to the Property description section.
Select How you host. In the Are you a professional host or a private host? section, select the appropriate option.
