A quote lets a guest review the estimated cost for a stay before they book.

You can edit a quote to:

  • Change rental dates or nightly rates
  • Add or update fees
  • Add or update sales and lodging taxes
  • Include damage protection

Important:

  • You can only edit a quote before the guest makes a payment.
  • If you use the Pay‑Per‑Booking model, every quote automatically includes a payment request.

 

Edit a quote

  1. Log in to your Vrbo Owner Dashboard.
  2. In the menu, select Inbox.
  3. Select Filters.
  4. Under Reservation, select Inquiry or Booking request.
    • Note: You can also search by the guest’s name or Reservation ID (Res ID) in the search bar.
  5. Select View messages.
  6. Choose the reservation you want to update.
  7. Select Edit quote.
  8. Make your changes.
  9. Select Review.
  10. If needed, add a message for the guest.
  11. Select Send pre-approval or Update quote, depending on the booking status.

 

Edit a quote to apply an extended stay discount

If you've set up extended stay discounts (weekly or monthly), they aren’t applied automatically when you edit a quote. To include the discount, manually adjust the rental amount in the quote to reflect the weekly or monthly discount. This ensures the new quote shows the correct discounted total.

 

Edit a quote with payment installments 

When you update a quote, the payment schedule may change depending on your payment terms and the timing of the stay.

  • If your payment terms require one installment, you can’t change them to multiple installments on an updated quote. This ensures you receive full payment before the guest arrives.
  • If the stay is far enough in the future, you can edit the quote and adjust the payment schedule to your preferred terms before sending a new payment request.
