From your Vrbo dashboard’s Inbox, you can edit reservations in the Booked, Pre-approved, or Post-stay status. You can't edit Cancelled or Timed out bookings and inquiries.

What changes can I make?

Before check-in

  • You can update dates, change rates, and adjust minimum‑stay or advance‑notice requirements. Follow the steps below to make your updates.
  • Note: The system will enforce your property’s house‑rule constraints (such as minimum stay, minimum notice, or rate limits).

After check-in

Currently, in‑stay reservations can't be edited. We’re actively adding post‑check‑in support, and we’ll update this article when it becomes available.

If you need to adjust an in‑stay booking, you can:

Make changes to a reservation

Important: The nightly rate comes from your Calendar. To change it, update the rate for that night in the Calendar before modifying the reservation.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. If you have more than one listing, select the property.
  3. Select Inbox.
  4. Find the reservation. You can select Filters to filter your conversations or enter the guest's name or reservation ID (Res ID) into the search bar.
  5. Select the guest's name.
  6. Select Modify or cancel reservation, then Modify reservation.
  7. Under Update reservation details, you can adjust any of the following (as long as the changes follow your house rules):
    • Check-in and check-out dates
    • Check-in and check-out times
    • Number of guests
    • Whether guests are bringing pets
  8. Select Next.
  9. Review your changes. If applicable, confirm the price with the traveler before proceeding.
  10. Select Update reservation.
  11. Select Close.

When you change a reservation, your cancellation policy dates are updated to match the stay dates.

Add an extra charge

From your inbox, you can send a request for an additional payment to cover any incidentals, such as early arrival or internet usage.

Issue a refund

From your inbox, you can refund a guest for any amount without cancelling the reservation, as long as the refund is not more than what the guest has already paid (excluding tax and fees).
