About two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication is a security feature that helps protect the information in your account. It utilizes two different forms of authentication to verify your identity and enable access to your account from a new or unrecognized device.
Each time you use a new device, or one we don't recognize, you’re prompted to complete two-factor authentication steps.
Complete the following steps to set up two-factor authentication:

Complete the following steps to set up two-factor authentication:
- Log in to your account.
- Select My Account.
- Select Account Settings.
- Under Security, locate Two-factor authentication.
- Select Edit.
- Enter a phone number, or edit an existing one by adding it as an additional number.
- Select whether you’d like to receive your access code via text message or automated phone call on your verified device.
- Once you have your code, input it into the site or app from your new device to access your account.
Guidelines
- Please allow up to one minute for the verification code to come through.
- Verification codes are valid for 30 minutes. If you haven't authenticated within this time period, request a new code.
- For your protection, your account is locked if a code is entered incorrectly five times.
- If you’re locked out of your account, select Contact Us to contact Customer Service.
- Ensure the phone number you’ve added for 2-factor authentication can receive text messages, as this method is used by Vrbo Support to authenticate a contact.
