Why is my credit card or eCheck payment not going through?
Make sure your credit card and billing information is entered correctly, that your card has not expired, and that the booking cost does not exceed the credit card transaction limit. Some banks may restrict your ability to pay online or block transactions for fraud protection. Please contact your bank after verifying the above information if you are still having issues.
Common issues for eChecks:
HomeAway Payments requires a U.S. bank account number and a routing number to process an eCheck. Please confirm your routing number is correct and that your bank account number does not exceed 17 digits.
Other reasons why your payment may not go through:
Check to make sure the rental agreement has been checked, that the dates you are trying to reserve are still available, and that the payment request or reservation has not been cancelled. Make sure you do not click the Submit button more than once when making a payment. Payments may take several minutes to process after you commit to a reservation.
After fixing any issues that may have prevented a payment from being processed, please wait at least two hours before trying to make another payment. You may also consider trying a different browser or clearing your cache and cookies before resubmitting a payment.
Countries where payments cannot be processed:
Some listings are not able to accept online payments from the following countries. If your bank is located in one of these countries, your online payment request cannot be processed:
- Central African Republic
- Cote d'Ivoire
- Democratic Republic of the Congo
- North Korea
- Sao Tome and Principe
- Saudi Arabia
