When there are warnings or errors in the integration between your property management software and Vrbo, you’ll receive email notifications called Vrbo Integration Audit Reports. These reports can help you to self-serve the resolution of these issues.

Note:Receiving these audit reports is dependent upon which software you use to connect to Vrbo. Not all of our software partners generate these reports.

Understanding Integration Audit Reports

Vrbo receives data through four separate feeds. If an error or warning occurs in any feed, you’ll get an email alert. Here is the type of content found in each of the feeds:

  1. Listing Integration
    • Content like photos, headlines, amenities, and descriptions
    • Errors here are easiest to troubleshoot yourself
  2. Unit Availability Integration
    • Calendar availability data
    • Errors may require Vrbo Support and/or Software Support
  3. Lodging Configuration
    • Policies such as cancellation and house rules
    • Errors may require Vrbo Support and/or Software Support
  4. Lodging Rates
    • Rates and payment schedule
    • Errors may require Vrbo Support and/or Software Support

Status definitions

  • SUCCESS: Data sent successfully and no action is needed
  • WARNING: FYI only, does not affect the data
  • ERROR: Needs attention
    • Note: Updates will not be made to this content until the error is resolved
  • INCOMPLETE CONTENT: Required info is missing to go live

Troubleshooting

Find the steps to troubleshoot your listing based on the subject of the warning email you received.  

Vrbo Listing Integration

You'll receive this report if there are errors/warnings in listing content (photos, descriptions, amenities, location).

Steps:

  1. Open the attached CSV
  2. Filter and review all errors in Column I
  3. Find the external ID (or software ID) in Column C
  4. Review the error message in Column J

Common errors and warnings:

Error/warningAction needed
An amenity in your listing is no longer supported and will not appear on your listing.None. This is an FYI that the amenity will not appear on Vrbo.
The image is an exact duplicate/near duplicate.None. This is an FYI that we will only display one of the two images seen in the message column.

Vrbo Unit Availability Integration

You'll receive this report if there are errors/warnings in calendar availability, changeover rules, or minimum stay requirements.

Steps:
  1. Open the attached CSV
  2. Filter and review all errors in Column H
  3. Find the external ID (or software ID) in Column C
  4. Review the error message in Column I
Common errors:
  • UNIT NOT FOUND: We are receiving calendar information for a listing that does not exist in Vrbo. Be sure you are distributing the listing to Vrbo.
  • INVALID CONTENT: The unit availability content is invalid. Contact Vrbo Support.
  • UNIT AVAILABLE CONTENT URL RETURNED EMPTY RESPONSE: Wait 24 hours. If the error persists, contact Vrbo support.
  • MIN/MAX VALUE ERROR: The minimum value must be less than the maximum. Correct this information in your software.

Vrbo Lodging Configuration

You'll receive this report if there are errors/warnings in your cancellation policy, booking policy, payment methods, rental agreement, or house rules.

Steps:
  1. Open the attached CSV
  2. Filter and review all errors in Column H
  3. Find the external ID (or software ID) in Column C
  4. Review the error message in Column I
Common errors:
  • UNIT NOT FOUND: We are receiving calendar information for a listing that does not exist in Vrbo. Check your software to ensure the listing is enabled to distribute to Vrbo.
  • SOCKET TIMEOUT EXCEPTION: Your feed’s connection to Vrbo timed out. Wait 24 hours; if the error persists, contact Vrbo Support.

Vrbo Lodging Rates

You'll receive this report if there are errors/warnings in rates, payment schedule, taxes, or fees.

Steps:

  1. Open the attached CSV
  2. Filter and review all errors in Column H
  3. Find the external ID (or software ID) in Column C
  4. Review the error message in Column I

Common errors:  

  1. VALIDATION ERRORS: Your listing is sending Vrbo a rate or tax of $0. Rates and taxes must be greater than $0. Update this information in your software.
  2. PROPERTY NOT FOUND: We are receiving calendar information for a listing that does not exist in Vrbo. Be sure you are distributing the listing to Vrbo.
  3. MIN/MAX VALUE ERROR: The minimum value must be less than the maximum. Correct this information in your software.
  4. INTERNAL SERVICE ERROR: Wait 24 hours. If the error persists, contact Vrbo support.
  5. EXCEPTION CAUGHT IN BUFFER PROCESS: Wait 24 hours. If the error persists, contact Vrbo support.

When to contact support

If the same error persists for more than 2 continuous days and/or you have already taken the proper steps to address the error, contact Vrbo Support.
