In the Vrbo Owner Dashboard (web) and Vrbo Owner mobile app, you can control how long guests are allowed to stay at your property by setting minimum and maximum length of stay requirements. These settings help you manage availability, reduce short gaps between bookings, and align reservations with your hosting preferences.

Understand your length of stay settings

In your property’s Calendar settings, you can set two types of length of stay requirements:

  • Minimum nights: The shortest stay you allow. Guests must book at least this many nights.
  • Maximum nights: The longest stay you allow. Guests cannot book more nights than the maximum you set.

These settings apply to every night on your calendar, but you can create date-specific minimum night overrides.

Important: Changes to minimum or maximum nights only apply to future availability. They don’t affect existing reservations or booking requests that have already been submitted.

How minimum night stays affect bookings

When a guest books your property, the minimum night stay requirement is based on the check-in date.

For example, if your listing has a one-night minimum stay from Monday to Thursday and a three-night minimum stay from Friday to Sunday, a guest could book their stay to start on Thursday and only book one or two nights.

Set your property’s default minimum or maximum nights

Important: Changes to minimum or maximum nights don't apply to existing bookings or pending booking requests. Changes to minimum nights also don't apply to dates that already have custom settings.

Override your minimum nights for specific dates

If you need different minimum stay requirements for certain dates, you can override your default minimum nights directly from your Calendar.

Important: If you set your property’s maximum length of stay, your minimum night overrides can't exceed the property’s maximum nights. For example, if you set your maximum to 30 nights, you can’t create a minimum night override for 31 nights or more. This helps you prevent booking issues and cancellations.
