If you have set up SMS alerts (text messages) in your account but are not receiving the alerts, please follow the troubleshooting steps below.
  1. Log in to your account.
  2. If you have more than one listing, click the one you want to edit.
  3. Click on the Property icon in the left navigation menu.
  4. Click on the Contacts tab.
  5. Confirm that the correct cell phone number is entered in the SMS alerts(text messages) to your cell phones section.
  6. Text START to 48381.
  7. When you receive the verification code, enter the verification code sent to your mobile number.
  8. Click Save.
After sending the START code you should receive a message that reads: 
(PM):Messaging service by PM reactivated. For help reply HELP.

Please note, this procedure is only valid for US phone numbers.

  • For Canadian phone numbers, text START to 32075. Message & Data rates may apply.
  • For UK and Mainland Europe, text START to 44786209702.
If you receive a failure message or do not receive any message, there may be an issue with your cell phone carrier. We recommend that you contact your cell phone carrier and ask them if the text messages sent from HomeAway.com are being properly received.
